This blog will continue to be my main outlet but my old WordPress blog lives again with a new purpose and a new name, riven skies is something of a whiteboard project where I’m experimenting with different writing styles. I’ve never been able to write fiction, perhaps because there have been so many extraordinary and often traumatic events in my life, so some of those events, mostly things that either won’t be covered in detail or stand outside my book, will form the base material. A broken promise part #1 is the first part of the deeply ingrained memory of the day I learned that my childhood best friend Richard had died in 1985.
I’d welcome any input you feel like offering be it critical or complimentary and really hope you’ll take a look. In fairness I should warn you that of necessity some of the pieces are going to be deeply emotional. New posts on riven skies will be much more ad hoc than here as I’m investing a lot of effort in writing style and editing is going to take a lot longer, new posts on Old Midhurstian will carry on at roughly one a day.
Who knows, when I’ve slain enough demons with my book, I may find the ability to start writing fiction and if I do, it would be nice to have developed a style to work in.
Hope to see you there
Love
